Join Us for National Diaper Need Awareness Week
National Diaper Need Awareness Week shines a spotlight on a crisis many families face but few talk about—the struggle to afford enough clean, dry diapers for their babies. Here in St. Louis, the need is urgent, and in the wake of recent tornadoes in North St. Louis, the demand is even greater. That’s why the Dawn Griffin Group is proud to sponsor the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank during National Diaper Need Awareness Week, September 15–21, 2025. We invite you to join us in supporting this vital cause.
What Is National Diaper Need Awareness Week?
This annual initiative aims to raise awareness around diaper need—the inability to afford enough diapers for infants to stay healthy and dry. Since its launch in 2012, the week has empowered individuals, organizations, and elected officials to take meaningful action.
Why Diaper Need Matters
- 1 in 2 U.S. families with young children struggle to afford enough diapers.
- 47% of parents reported diaper need in 2023.
- 1 in 4 parents miss work or school because they can’t afford the diapers required by childcare.
- Average diaper usage: 10–12 diapers/day—about $80/month per child.
- Families often sacrifice food, utilities, or housing to buy diapers.
- Diaper need contributes to stress, maternal depression, child health issues (like rashes and infections), and missed childcare opportunities.
Our Local Impact: St. Louis Area Diaper Bank
We’ve seen firsthand how the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank transforms lives—distributing thousands of diapers monthly to families who need them most. But the need continues to grow. That’s why our sponsorship is more than a donation—it’s a commitment to community health, dignity, and opportunity.
