To celebrate National Ice Cream Day in St. Louis on Sunday, July 21st, you have a many sweet options. Local ice creameries are offering a variety of fun-filled events. In 1904, the St. Louis World’s Fair became the birthplace of the beloved ice cream cone. When a vendor ran out of dishes, a neighboring waffle seller rolled his waffles into cones, creating an iconic dessert that has delighted generations ever since. To celebrate National Ice Cream Day and in collaboration with Missouri History Museum, Clementine’s has created four new flavors that celebrate foods from the 1904 World’s Fair. On Sunday the first 50 guests in line at each location receives free t-shirt and the first person in line at each store gets a  commemorative poster. All flavors are now available for national shipping and will be available in scoops and pints at all Clementine’s locations on July 21st.

Sunday, July 21st, also happens to be Serendipity Ice Cream’s 21st anniversary! Starting at Noon, they’ll be scooping up your favorite ice creams, serving novelties, creating Dipity Doughs, and mixing up shakes, malts, and Spirited Shakes (from their Spirited Shakes menu). The day long extravaganza includes: specials, a balloon twister, an enamel pin giveaway (1 pin per person with purchase), a koozie giveaway (with any pint purchase), a DJ, and more.

Celebrate National Ice Cream Day at the 1904 World’s Fair—birthplace of the ice cream cone! To commemorate the 120th anniversary of the 1904 World’s Fair, our first 120 visitors will receive a free scoop of Clementine’s ice cream, and 50 visitors will receive an exclusive National Ice Cream Day T-shirt. This event will feature an ice cream–themed craft and play area for little ones, and a story time! Interpreters will provide free drop-in experiences for visitors of all ages in our newly reopened 1904 World’s Fair exhibit. Get ready for a sweet day at the Missouri History Museum! This program is presented in collaboration with Clementine’s Creamery.
