Meanwhile, during National Ice Cream Month...It's been more than a year since a fire destroyed the much loved Gelateria on South Grand. And I miss that courtyard. That coffee. And that gelato.

Amendment 5 could open the door to new taxes on the services involved in buying, selling and caring for a home, from inspections and repairs to plumbing, construction, landscaping and real estate services.

Those added costs could make it harder for first-time buyers to get in the door, harder for families to move when their needs change, and harder for homeowners to maintain the homes they already love.

At a time when housing affordability is already a challenge, Missouri should be making homeownership more attainable—not creating new barriers.

That is why we are asking you to protect Missouri homeownership. Vote NO on Amendment 5 on August 4.
