It’s outdoor dining season and we share some of our favorite patio and courtyard dining options in St. Louis. Over the last two years restaurants have had to get creative, maximizing outdoor space and extending the season with heaters, which we appreciate. But warmer temps are here and there’s nothing like noshing outside and people watching on a warm sunny day in St. Louis. Here are some of our picks.
We love Taco Buddha! The patio is totally charming and The Albuquerque tacos are the BEST. I am so excited that they are going to be opening a location in Kirkwood. I also like the patio at Rooster on South Grand, where I always manage to bump into someone I know.
I admit to spending a decent amount of time on the patio at Rockwell Brewery. It is just the kind of super casual experience I love. I can’t wait to try the Rockwell Beer Garden at Francis Park, which I hear is great. It is on my summer bucket list.
Sasha’s is in my neighborhood and I like to keep it as local as possible. Hard to beat the patio at Sasha’s in spring. And I love when our team goes to Vin de Set. I never get tired of that view from the rooftop and it’s the perfect spot to talk shop.
The Royale has a bomb courtyard and fancy bar food. It is one of our favorite spots to enjoy a beer any time of the year. But we like the patio at both Sasha’s locations.
I was so happy to discover Have a Cow Cattle Co. Café in The Gate. This place is so unique, with an urban farm store inside and the staff is super friendly. Love the menu and the patio spaces are fantastic. I’m also a fan of Olio. It’s so close to my mom and dad’s new place in Botanical Heights. I treat myself to that patio as often as I can.
Frisco Barroom is one of our favorite patio spots. I like to go on Sunday afternoons and get the charcuterie board and then stop by a walk through Blackburn Park on the way home. I also had dinner and drinks on the patio at Planter’s House last fall with friends and it was so fantastic. It had our expat friend who was visiting really missing St. Louis.
I really enjoy going to 9 Mile Garden. The set up is fantastic, it’s casual, and they have live music or movies often. It is just a great summer spot. And for a quintessential summer in St. Louis experience, The Boathouse in Forest Park can’t be beat.
I love the music, drinks, and food and the Broadway Oyster Bar. It is always so lively.

Hope you get a chance to enjoy one of these outdoor dining spots soon.
