A Passion for Empowerment

Kimberly Franks

Kim describes herself as, “wearing multiple hats as an erstwhile practicing lawyer, stylist, thrift enthusiast, fashion buyer, bookkeeper, shopkeeper and political activist.” With a background in social work and a commitment to personal wellness, she founded Liberated Roots in 2020 to create a space that uplifts and supports individuals from all walks of life. Her mission is to provide a streamlined connection between conscious shoppers and Black-owned brands. The name “Liberated Roots” reflects her belief in the importance of reclaiming one’s heritage and embracing the roots of personal identity.

2 years since opening my storefront, I have been so busy taking care of family and keeping the wheels turning that I have never taken the time out for an official grand opening. Along with some amazing collaborators, I am hosting an official grand opening event and anniversary celebration.
