Family-Friendly Campouts in St. Louis
If you’ve been wanting to try camping, there are two family-friendly campout events coming up in the St. Louis area that are perfect opportunities. Camp with the wildlife at Lone Elk Park or enjoy Snores and S’mores at Emmenegger Nature Park in Kirkwood. Both require advance registration. Check them out!
Night In The Wild at Lone Elk Park
Saturday, April 30th. Registration Required.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to camp out with the elk and bison at Lone Elk Park. Activities include a night hike, canoeing, learning about trees and the natural environment, archery and more.
You will need to bring your own camping gear, dinner and breakfast.
The event is $15 per person. You will need to register in advance for the overnight event. You can do so by calling 314-615-8822.
Check in at the visitor’s center between 2 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30 and check out at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Snores & S’mores Family Campout
Saturday, May 6th. All participants must register by May 4th.
All Ages. New location! Grab your gear and join us for an overnight adventure in Emmenegger Nature Park in Kirkwood. Enjoy a campfire, night hike, nature craft, and stargazing with the whole family. You bring the tents and camping gear, we’ll bring the hot dogs, soft drinks, s’mores, and a light breakfast. (Bring your own food if you’d like. No glass bottles please).
- Check-in and tent setup begins at 5 p.m.
- Dinner and activities begin at 6 p.m.
- Lights out at 10 p.m.
- Breakfast 7-8 a.m. Tents must be cleared out by 9 a.m.
